How To: DB Bench Press

Before we get to the 20 second mark, he mentions that dumbbell bench press is safer than barbell bench press. I personally think they are similar in terms of safety. I do think that healthy individuals can barbell bench press with no problems and the barbell has the advantage of being more stable. Dumbbells have the advantage of being easier on the shoulder if done properly, but also pose a risk due to the instability inherent with dumbbells in motion.
I like his emphasis on the hand squeeze for activation and I like that he talks about not over stretching. One thing I wish he would have mentioned; would be to keep the arms slightly tucked, maybe at 60 degrees with the body. Having arms perpendicular to the body (or 90 degrees) can be hard on the shoulder. See image below for an example of keeping the arms slightly tucked.
